STRONG FAMILIES PROGRAM TRAINING OF TRAINERS (TOT)

As part of the program of Drug Abuse Prevention this year, roll out of the Strong Families (SF) Program to the Special Drug Education Center Point Persons and selected barangay representatives from Barangay Central, Barangay Sikatuna, and Barangay Milagrosa of Quezon City to empower facilitators to carry out the Strong Families Program in their own localities.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) developed the Strong Families (SF) Program. This program is based on scientific evidence that proves the effectiveness of targeting parents and children to prevent drug abuse, crime and other risk behaviors in youth. It is a family-skills training program for caregivers and children, designed to improve child mental health, parenting practices, and family adjustment skills to cope with challenging situations, including COVID-19, while fostering resiliency against the influence of illegal drugs.
